Okay so either i just get extremely lucky or menards has no idea what they are doing. I just picked this up at lunch. The price tag which i pointed out said 500cfm not 2 inches away is the jet sticker boldly saying 1100cfm. The guy said well they are discontinued and we are no longer carrying them. So I thought i would point it out in case someone wants to check their local menards.

Wow that’s a killer deal. That model typically runs in the mid-$400 range and is actually 1100CFM. Maybe an opps on their part, but hey you made out like a champ. Congrats!

Nice Find.

it might have been the older model of the 1100? either way this price is phenomenal! and is a great and powerful DC hands down.

I’m stopping at Menard’s on the way home.

Then after that, craigslist.

Just upgrading, retirement planning as I call it.

But,I’d be putting the Jet on craigslist for $250 NIB not my Oneida to make back a few $$ I’ve spent recently.

I just can’t pass up a deal when it’s something I wanted for a while. :)

I usually do pretty good, use something for 5-10 years, replace it with something better, most of the time recouping 60%-75% of the cost of the new item. It pays to buy good machines/tools to start with and take good care of them.

I just seem to run into deals all the time. Last September I picked up a Porter-Cable C5510 compressor from my favorite Ace when they decided they weren’t going to carry them any more for $263. Lowest online price right now is $409. Wasn’t looking for a new one but at that price I’ve been wanting to replace that noisy oil-less one I had. Replaced my Drill Doctor 500 Pro with a 500X for $76 at another Ace when the 500X first came out and recouped that when I sold my Pro on eBay. Picked up my PC 690 kit with plunge and fixed bases for $118 at Ace when the going price was $250 or more. Just lucky I guess.

I always look at the clearance racks everywhere I go regardless what I’m stopping for.

Case in point, today at my favorite Ace they’re selling Delta’s Sharpening Center for $99, normally $179. And Delta’s 12” benchtop disc sander for $129, every where else it’s $179 or more. But I already have both.
