I wanted to share something with everyone, that even you all may be guilty of doing. My dad passed on his band saw to me a few weeks ago. Started doing some cleaning, I decided to update the blades. Took the old one off and went to Lowe’s and bought a new one. Got it home and tried to install, but the teeth were running in the wrong direction. I took it back, explained to the guy (who also couldn’t figure it out) and exchanged it and proceeded to install the newly acquired blade. This one too had the teeth running in the wrong direction. For a while I scratched my head and could only think that the manufacture messed up. After a frustrating period, I finally realized that I was a dumb a$$. I had unintentionally rolled the blade inside out and caused the blade to become backwards. As I turned it back the correct way and installed, I couldn’t help but think “how stupid I could be”. I immediately thought of calling my dad and sharing the story. We both laughed and he enlightened me that he had done the same thing and wondered when I was going to call him for help when I did it. I call it a “DAD” moment, because I was able to share something with him that he had also done, and we were able to laugh about it. He is 79yrs old this year and I hope he is around long enough to possibly see my sons make the same mistake and laugh with them. I know this may sound like a corny story, but I wanted to share with all of you who may have had a similar moment in life. It is the small things in life that really make us step back and appreciate what we have. Thanks for listening.
