I’m wondering if anyone has a lunchbox planer that is broken and taking up space in their garage. I’m in search for a gearbox from a planer… I know it’s a long shot, but I figured there was no better place to ask then you guys!

A make/model of the planer you are looking for might help unless you are just looking for some random stuff.

Cheers,

The make and model don’t matter to me. I think I’m going to try and repurpose it…

What are you trying to accomplish with the gear box? What rpm do you need? There’s other options. Lunch box planers use brush type motor, think router, noisy 20,000 rpm. Always give more details of what want to do and you can get more options that can be cheaper and simpler.

I’m looking to build a power feeder for a router fence…. I’m trying to get something around 60 RPM? But I can tweak it with pulleys

My planer gear box is my right arm or my DeWalt 733. There is no way we might help without further info.
Come on feller!!! A post such as yours doesn’t give us much info.

Haha sorry Bill… I’m looking for the gearbox for an electric planer. I have a Delta 22-540. I took it apart for a good cleaning this weekend and realized that I could reuse the gearbox the drives the feed rollers.

Look on craigslist for a treadmill. DC motor with variable speed would be simpler.

I have a lunchbox planer that’s out of commission but there’s no “gearbox” in it ,unless you are talking about the motor housing with the rollers and the 2 planer knives .anyhow let us know how your new project goes.
