I found a source for MortisePal templates and posted all the info on this Forum a couple of days ago …..... in case anyone else needed templates.

I also asked for a little help on a template measurement.

I guess not a lot of folks read my first forum cuz I asked:

My ½” got trashed. (1/4” bit)

Would someone please measure the LENGTH of the ½” oval (which obviously is not 1/2 “). The width (or height) of each oval is obviously the same…. and I have plenty of those.)

It needs to be a MortisePal version 3 template measurement. (I dunno, maybe the hole size stayed the same thru all three versions).

If someone would take that measurement for me, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks guys, as always

I don’t know what version I have, but I bought it in the summer of 2014, It must have been right before he went out of business. The length of my 1/2” template measures 1.189”. I hope that will help you.
PS: I may be interested in buying templates in the future.

Thanks, man, I really wanted that measurement.

I appreciate you doing that for me.

Like you, I bought mine just a few months before he shut down and I never saw the email about buying the surplus inventory.

So, I am almost positive we have the same version.

Really too bad he could not make a go of it as I think the MortisePal is a great tool and made with high precision standards.

As for you needing future templates….... don’t you hesitate a second to get in touch with me. More than happy to help.

Thanks again, David

Hi Bruce,

Sorry I can’t help either…Wish I could, pal, but I don’t own a MortisePal…I never even heard of one until you posted something about it…..Good luck with your locating templates, etc…..I hope you are able to find them…

Thanks, Bud

Got all the info I needed from (great guy) Laughran (David) above.

I just wish he had been more accurate in his measurement. Only went out 100,000,000 thousands of an inch.

I hope David reads this so he knows I am ragging on him.

Have your say...
