Really nice, Jeff. I’m happy to see you hung in and are making some nice pieces. Keep at it and you’ll get better and better. You know the old saying – “Practice makes perfect!”.

Thanks ron;;;lol I’m trying and I’m not quitting;;;honestly;;;;if I could just get a good feel for the bowl gouged without a catch it would help me a lot;;;thank you for your comment

Happy to lend moral support, Jeff. I’m only about 3 years into turning myself and still have a lot to learn. Bowl gouges are tricky and catches still happen to me. The most important tips I can suggest are to frequently resharpen or hone the tool, and always rub the bevel. Keep experimenting until you get a feel for it, and don’t let mistakes get you down. We all make them (which is why I have a HUGE supply of firewood!) and you just keep trying.
