Topic tags/keywords: hardware hinges

Lumberjocks,

I am working on an awesome project but find that I am completely frustrated by not being able to locate 2” high full surface butt hinges. Let me begin by offering the following link explaining what a full surface hinge is http://www.mckinneyhinge.com/pdfs/kb/Hinge%20Swaging.PDF
I will not be mortising these hinges but am surface mounting them and the hinge will be mostly concealed so the finish is not at all important and I don’t want to pay a fortune. I am in need of 4 pair. These hinges will be used on a folding chair and attach the stretcher to the leg. I purchased some extremely reasonably priced hinges, .18 each, from D. Lawless Hardware but find that they are swaged and won’t lay flat. I have done internet searches with no results. HELP!

I don’t believe it – two posts that (maybe) can use the same link in one day?
