Hello freinds, I aquired some Euculyptus, thats right Euculyptus in case anybody gots a pet koala! My neighbor should be charged with a crime the way he butchered this tree, but I still think I got a few good logs. Its a softer wood like cedar and very aromatic for ya’ll people up north. Winter is approaching along with cold/flu, big wiff of this wood should cure that. First time I’ve had an oppurtunity to mill this stuff, but besides the checking problem I think its very colorful and good wavy grains. Thanks |

Blue, pictures would be nice, I agree with Dorje. The before and after if you will. What it is now, and what you might turn it into. 10 minutes later…. Now I see the pics. IT is deemed a butcher job! Have they no respect??? A lot can come out of it though…... -- Carpe Lignum; Tornare Lignum (Seize the wood, to Turn the wood) |

Its funny how some people see a problem with there trees and I always see gold in them thar trees. I just scored a euc burl with a lot of pin knots two days ago and will be making some veneer or maybe some table tops. I have cut some of our local euc’s but am not sure of the exact species. It cuts like butter when green and then turns rock hard after drying. Some has nice figure. Good job on the log rescue service; we can all make a difference by spreading the word. -- Ron, Twain Harte, Ca. Count me in for one if you mill it to about 1” or 2” slabs! I will have more funds around the 1st. Email me if you got some. And maybe some 1 or 2” mesquite. Gonna start on boxes after the monsoons stop! God Bless, -- Saving barnwood from the scrapyards |

I’d love to get my hands on some of this. That’ll make some great christmas presents – and conversation pieces. I have a few family memebers who’ve been down under – they’d just love something made from this! I’d love a slab, and/or some smaller bits big enough to turn. I can pay pal you this weekend. -- I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it. - Van Gogh -- http://blanchardcreative.etsy.com -- http://snbcreative.wordpress.com/ |
