Topic tags/keywords: log cedar finishing natural

I have a white cedar log, 6” in diameter and 6’ long. It is a deer rub and I would like to preserve it AS IS for a nature scene display. The most important thing is that it keeps its color. So, I am looking for recommendations on what type of finish or sealer to use, and also, how long I should let it dry before using said finish, without losing color in the log.
