Looking for a source for a 2 1/2” wooden screw and nut. I know about LakeEire Tool Works, but at 200 plus, expensive. Also Big Wooden Screws, not taking orders, no reason given??? Others?

There is a young man name Carter here on LJ who has a series of blogs on making wood screws and nuts. Just do a search within LJ you should able to find it.

I also am looking for wooden vice screws. Evans Wooden Screw Co sells I think 2” diameter screw and nut for $160. Best I have found so far. I also did look at Mr. Carters videos and I may do that, but I’ve not convinced myself that the time involved to make the jigs plus the cost will be worth it. Here is part one of his tutorial.
