Topic tags/keywords: corner chisel sharpening

Does anyone have any tips for sharpening a corner chisel? I just put a huge nick in mine and need to grind it down and resharpen it.

First you get a corner chisel then….then….I guess I filed mine and then progressively I used finer and finer sand paper. up to 600 grit. spray glued on a strip of ceramic tile. I hope I remember that right it’s been 10 years or so.

when i chipped mine last year, i couldn’t put it on a grinder, so i filed it down(6”fine cut file), then honed the edge with sandpaper glued over the corner of a block of wood. I switched to jewelers rouge for the final honing.
the backs i just flattened on my waterstones as per normal.
