This forum has been very helpful with my woodworking related questions. Perhaps you can help me with a non-wood related question. I am guessing your first question is, “why is he asking about metal on a site about woodworking?” Well, I am guessing that a lot of you guys are like me, you don’t just do woodworking. I am the do-it-yourselfer from hell. I weld, I build furniture, I work on bicycles and motorcycles, the list goes on… I am sure you also find it necessary to weld or re-machine some broken bits off of one of your woodworking tools at least once a month. So I am guessing there must be someone out there on this site who loves the smell of melting carbon steel just as much as walnut sawdust in the morning, and might be able to help me. So, If any of you live in the Chicago area, and know where to get some cheap metal, Please let me know. Cheers. JMB -- If I can't fix it, it wern't broke in the first place! |
