This is great!! I especially liked the router videos. Obviously, there isn’t the interaction or advice that can be found at this site, but for a newbie like me, I think this site could be very helpful. Thanks Gene!!!

Dave,
If you run across something in the videos that needs further explanation, just post the question here. These guys are great to help.

This site was up a few years ago then they shut down. Just for kicks I checked them about a month ago and saw the Maloof videos…awesome.

Schoey got me to thinking.
I’m an old, non-techie, geezer so can you guys help me out, here?
Is there any way to save videos to a thumb drive or CD? I can’t figure it out.
I thought about even trying to hook my laptop to the tv and maybe recording to a CD that way???
But, I have NO clue as to what hdwr I need or as to the process.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Gene, there are absolutely ways to save video files to a thumb drive, CD, or DVD. The thumb drive is probably the easiest since the thumbdrive is all the hardware you would need. All you do is plug one into a USB port and save the file to it. The computer thinks the thumbdrive is another hard drive. Its also easy to save to a CD or DVD, but your pc would have to have a “burner” for either type and some software. The software is available from many different sites and its free, but the burner would have to be purchased and installed. Feel free to drop me a PM if you want some assistance.

Thanks Dave. Got me an 8G thumb drive just for videos. Been ripping all day. This is neat stuff.

Why don’t you just mark the site?

Two reasons:

First, they may take the site down again and then the link won’t work anymore. Second, If I don’t have internet access in my shop (although to be honest, I can’t imagine that), I can just throw the CD/DVD in a player and watch it.

Perzactly! It’s already happened to me and that’s what got me on this gig.

woodsmith has some good videos out there as well. I misplaced the URL for it though.
