Just a quick question, I was looking through several magazines and what is the difference between the two? Also is one better or is it like every other tool manufacturer, everyone has good and bad?

Both brands are owned by the same guy, and in many cases the tools are very similar, but not all. Tools like the Shop Fox W1677 and Grizzly G1023SL are nearly identical. The primary differences for the businesses are in their retail method…Grizzly is mail order, and Shop Fox has a dealer network. Shop Fox also has a two year warranty vs one year, so if price is close Shop Fox can be the better value, but Griz is usually a bit less expensive.
