I don’t know if it’s ok to sell items on the forum – if not, please tell me and I’ll take this down.

I’ve got 3 year old Delta 50-850 with a 1 micron Delta bag that I need to sell. If anyone is interested, please let me know. The machine and bag were $360 new and I really have no idea what they’re worth used.

The machine works great and is in near new condition. It has seen very little use (I’ve never emptied the lower bag! and it’s not even 1/2 full now).

Thanks,
Mark

I need one but you’re too far to ship.

I think it weighs around 100lbs or so. I could check UPS if you like.

Mark,

If Thos decides not to pursue this idea, I may be interested.

You mentioned “trade” in your original posting. Anything particular in mind?

Aubrey – I tossed the idea out there in case someone had some tool they wanted to swap… I had nothing in particular in mind.

Let me know if you’re interested and where you are. I can try and figure out the shipping costs.

Shipping to 97910 would be between $75 and $100 (it looks like UPS charges about $1/lb to go across country). I don’t know the exact weight – I’ll have to weigh it.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if there is anything I can do for you to trade. I love to trade. Maybe a carved leather panel for a cabinet or maybe some wood burning art. I was going to throw the idea of doing these out to the other jocks any way. It’s fun to co-laborate. Any way think up a price and we’ll see.

I listed it on Ebay and Craigslist yesterday to see. There are 8 people ‘watching’ it and one bid on Ebay. Just a joke though – he bid 99 cents. If you’re not an Ebay user, this is common but silly IMHO. Craigslist is doing a little better – I listed it for $200 and had someone offer me $150 for it and another $200. Craigslist, I’m told but have no personal experience (yet!), often has people offering to buy/pay that just don’t show up or are fraudulent buyers (they send fake bank checks and you get stiffed). It’s a cash only deal there as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve had good luck on E-Bay. Last year I sold all the add on tools for my Shopsmith. I did real well on them. I buy lots of planes and tools on there, too. You’ll get it sold for the $200. I’ve never been stiffed on E-Bay. No experience with Craigslist. Good luck.

Thanks Thos. I agree with you on the Ebay comment. I buy and sell all the time and have had very good luck. Never a problem. It’s pretty heavy though and as you can see UPS isn’t cheap when it comes to heavy items. Craigslist is local only, no fee to post, no rules really. There’s always good stuff on there though. I bought a Hoffmann PDS-32 not too long ago for $275 practically new.

I buy stuff on ebay and craigslist. I’ve sold a few things on craigslist.

On ebay it defaults to the current bid, plus a bid increment. With .99 you seeing the first bid, and not the users maximum. If your worried about selling no lower than a certin price point, you can use a reserve.

Thanks for the note Wayne. I set a reserve for it – I just find it entertaining that anyone would bid .99 for something that is clearly worth more than $150 or so…..

My point is that even if he bid $100, I belive it would show at .99 until someone else bid if .99 was the starting bid.

I didn’t realize that. I understand the proxy bidding thing Ebay does but didn’t realize if you bid $100 for something with a minimum price set and a reserve that only the minimum would show….. Thanks for the tip!

I’ve had a lot of great exchanges through craigslist locally. No problems at all. Most people usually just come and pay me exactly what I’m asking – they don’t even try to bargain…

That said, I recently sold a compressor, and although 10-12 people said they were “really interested,” they never did set up a time to come and check it out. I finally sold it to a fellow from further away and met him about 10-15 miles from my home…no big deal I suppose, though I really wanted him to be able to run it, get it up to pressure, but he was satisfied with my word…

Usually the craigslist folk just come and buy…
