I’ve had this arcade cocktail in the garage for a while, had a crazy idea of restoring it for a pac-man, but I don’t think I’m going to do that anymore. I was thinking of what to do with it, sell, trade, burn? Then it came to me…router table! What do you guys think? It’s basically just a big box with a hinged lid? Has a drawer in the bottom for bit storage, the side wings come off. Also which way should I make the fence, on the long or short side, I assume long? Thanks for the thoughts. -- If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem! |

Aw come on, you have to install MAME in that thing. -- I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso |

restore this, build a router table. it’s to short, you would have to modify it anyway. -- a truly wise man never plays leap frog with a unicorn |

looks too short to be a router table, you’d have to modify it that it would make more sense to just build a router table from scratch… I’ll 3rd tyson. restore this to MAME, and build a router table to fit your exact needs. fence should be short/long depending on type of table you make, Norm’s type = fence is longer, Incra type = fence is shorter -- ㊍ When in doubt - There is no doubt - Go the safer route. |

I agree with building a router table to YOUR specs and needs. The cost would not be much more than maodifiyng the Pong table. You will thank yourself many times over in the future. -- Never board, always knotty, lots of growth rings |

I’m in the “put a MAME box in it” camp, or if not you can probably get someone on Craigslist who wants to do that to give you enough for it to get you well started on a router table of the right height. But swap that CRT out for a cheap LCD of the same size, put an old PC under it, if you want to PM me I’ve got a friend who tracked down joysticks to give him the feel of the original PacMan tables, and you’ll have a great little game setup. -- Dan Lyke, Petaluma California, http://www.flutterby.net/User:DanLyke |
