Hi All, I just recieved a PM from a lumberjock about pre qualifying for a tradeshow in the UK. It was unsolicited. I felt it was spam. Anyone else receive the same message? -- www.carvingandturningsbyrick.com, Rick Kruse, Grand Rapids, MI |

Gee, I didn’t get this one. I usually get the ones from some faux babe trying to find a hot date. Maybe you lucked out because of the tuxedo. Why would you want to “prequalify” for a tradeshow? Must be a new marketing gizmo for selling booths. Report it to Martin and he’ll remove them from the registration. -- "They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night." ~ Edgar Allan Poe |

Maybe Martin could add a feature that would prevent folks from sending Private Messages until they had at least 1 project posted, or 10 posts or something like that. It will prevent the spammers from creating accounts to just send PM’s. -- San Diego, CA |

I got it. Not much use in the philipines unless they are willing to pay my fare to england! Thought it strange they just randomly sent it out given the narrow focus of the event. I just ignored it. -- if the hand is not working it is not a pure hand |

I think interpim has a great idea! I am sure it would pretty much nip this unfortunate intrusion on us in the rear end! Martin? -- Allison, Northeastern Ca. Remember, Amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic! |

I got the email but it was through another site. It was deleted. -- Never board, always knotty, lots of growth rings |

I’ve only had 3 or 4 in nearly a year. It doesn’t seem to be that much of a problem since Martin takes the occasional one off right away. Why complicate things more than necessary? -- "some old things are lovely, warm still with life ... of the forgotten men who made them." - D.H. Lawrence |

Hello, I already locked his account. ”Maybe Martin could add a feature that would prevent folks from sending Private Messages until they had at least 1 project posted, or 10 posts or something like that.” I already thought about that too but PMs are also used by people who just want to request a quote from other fellow LJs and are not necessarily woodworkers. Maybe limiting PMs to one per day until a respective member posts.. hmm? -- Martin, http://lumberjocks.com | My Facebook: http://profile.to/msojka |

Martin, That sounds very reasonable and will probably eliminate it until they figure out they need to post something to gain access :-)) -- "some old things are lovely, warm still with life ... of the forgotten men who made them." - D.H. Lawrence |
