Does anyone know how to install these hinges

I like the look of these hinges, but don’t really get how they could be installed. Do you have to make a mortise to allow the bar to retract into the side of the box?
Has any one tried these hinges, how do you like them?

Yes, the arm swings into a mortise. They are really great to me. I like to use them on small boxes. You mortise the hinge itself too so it will be flush.

This tool jig will really make installing these hinges a breeze and also is very accurate. You can do many other hinges as well as make up your own templates with their blanks.
