hi
my sink has a lip and it makes cutting and cleanup inconvenient. my fantasy is a cutting board thet sits next to the sink but can slide over the sink and allow it to be cleaned off in sink and then slide back to its base next to sink.
cant find any being made. any design ideas.
thanx

I have not seen any sliding cutting boards, just the ones that fit over the sink. These fit the sink openings, and then have a hole or slot cut in them to allow you to wash things down the garbage disposal. With all the different sinks out there, it seems to be difficult to get a standard size. You might have to build one of your own design.

How about a board that has a concave edge at the base so the top can rest over the lip of the sink? It sounds like you want a large cutting board.

I agree with Dennis. Unless the sink has a lip on the inside, there would be nothing to have it sit on. Therefore sit over the top.

Think outside the box – er sink.

The commercial one we have has rubber feet that hold it in position when the cutting board is placed in the sink. It came with the sink and is designed specifically for it.
