Martin,
Several times while entering a project, when I’m just about to the end of my story, Poof ! & it’s gone. What am I doing wrong, I think one time it said ”Page Timed Out”

I must be too slow, or something.

Hmm Dick.. this sounds strange. Once the page is loaded and you’re able to type your story there should be no problem with the site.. I didn’t even get the error notification which is emailed to me when something goes wrong.

Is the page fully loaded when you start typing (there should be loading progress bar in your browser)? Does this happen before you click on the submit button?

I recommend to prepare longer post in something like Notepad or Word and save it before posting. Then just copy-paste it, add some formatting (bold etc) and submit. If something goes wrong you have the back up version. Very small amount of forums have auto-save feature while typing (gmail email service has it implemented for example) and even then it is not 100% safe because we’re still talking about web and browsers.

I will consider adding autosaving feature in the future but till then I highly recommend writing and saving any longer posts on your computer first.

Hope this helps.. let me know if you have any other questions.

That’s what I do, Dick. It also helps to catch spelling and sentence structure errors when you use MS Word!

Thinking about this.. I should add this recommendation as a tip near the text input boxes.

Thanks Martin,
I was just in the process of putting my project on an e-mail. That way I email to myself, & my wife gets a chance to proof read my errors on her computer.

By the way Martin, I received my LJ T-shirt today. A perfect fit. You mentioned getting a picture of me modeling it. How do you want it posted ?
