Howdy!

My old (20+ years) Grizz 1023 was retrofitted with a Biesemeyer with the 52” rails and tube. Don’t have room now for anything that big and was considering getting the metal to make my own custom length tube and rails. (Seems criminal to cut down what I’ve got.)

Has anyone done this? What should I measure to get the correct dimensions for the tube and angle stock? I’ve not done much of any metal working and can’t afford to do this more ‘n once. As it is, I’m probly gonna have to drive to Ft. Worth (270 miles RT) to get what little metal I need.

TIA

I don’t have any info, maybe you could sell it and get a proper length one for the same money.

The tricky part in all this is that the tube your fence clamps to is surface ground on the bottom where it contacts the mounting angle that is attached to the front of the saw. Don’t know how important this is to the function of the fence but I am pretty sure you don’t have the equipment to pull this off.

Personally, I like Karson’s idea.
