I have a central machinery 6” jointer that my wife purchased for me from Harbor Freight last year and I cannot find replacement knives. the Harbor Freight store said that they do not carry them. I looked online and did not find a place that I can buy them.

Can someone point me in the right direction, although I would rather have an 8” Grizly jointer I will have to wait a bit longer for that.

Thanks.

On advice from someone either here or another forum can’t remember which I bought knives from http://www.globaltooling.net/

I have not actually dulled the current knives enough to change yet but they look to be good quality and the price and shipping costs made them considereably cheaper than buying replacements directly from Grizzly for the machine I have.

They have a huge selection of sizes, if I remember right they pretty much call everything a “planer knife” but if you look through the products I am sure you will find the ones for your jointer. Beware though to get the right number of knive set :) I nearly didn’t get the 4 knife set for mine but caught it before I checked out.

When I had my Star 8” jointer and needed a set of replacement knives I bought a set of Delta knives that are used in their DJ-20 that I was able to pick up locally, they fit fine.

So, if you have places around you that sell woodworking machines and carry knives go visit them and take one of your knives with you or the dimensions of the knives and see if they have a set that they can match up.

That’s what I did when I got the DJ-20 knives for the Star. Actually, they had a different brand what would have fit but they were out of those and since I drove all the way up there (I had phoned and was told they had this different brand in stock) they sold me the DJ-20 knives for the price of the off brand knives. $40 for a set of DJ-20 knives, that was a pretty good deal.and now that I have a DJ-20 I’m set with an extra set of knives.

I think I actually found Freud 6” jointer knives that fit this jointer online about 6 months ago.
