Topic tags/keywords: sawstop fence fence retrofit fence

I am upgrading to the 52” fence system on my saw, finally have a bigger shop that allows it. The fence is in good shape, no damage to the rails or fence. The extension table has visible scuff marks in it, the downfall of a shiny black work surface, but it is not damaged. I have maybe done 3 or so projects through it since I purchased it. The fence should be able to be bolted directly to the contractor saw, should be a nice upgrade if your running their aluminum fence. I also believe it can be retrofitted on to other makes, although I cannot guarantee it.

I am looking to get $125 for the fence. I am located outside DC. I may be able to ship this as well if your interested, I can get a cheap rate through a buddy with FedEx.

Just for clarification this fence is the 30” premium fence found on the PCS, the contractor 30” fence is an aluminum fence that connects to both rails, this one only rides on the front rail. It should fit on the contractor and would be an upgrade to the stock contractor fence.

I will upload a picture of the actual fence this evening.

These are nice fences, but you do know they sell for $175 new right?

Bought one new for 144$ total. 100$ might be better.

According to my google searching the only 30” fence that is advertised is their aluminum extrusion fence that sells for 155-175 plus shipping and/or tax. This is the fence off a pcs, not the contractor saw. When I spoke to the woodcraft people they told me it sells new for $250. I figured $75 off from new was pretty decent since it’s fairly new. I also checked eBay and these fences sell or try to sell between $200 and up.. I appreciate the comments and if you two are talking about the fence from a pcs let me know where you got them, if they’re selling them below Sawstop prices then I want to get my new fence from those places . I called 3 separate Sawstop retailers and got the same price at each place.

It’s the same fence & rails on either the PCS or Contractor saw, no?

No…the “Standard” fence comes with the contractor saw, and the PCS comes with the “Premium” fence. Both saws can be upgraded with the “T-Glide” fence that’s stock on the ICS, but the Premium fence is not currently an option for the contractor saw.

I lowered the price to $125, I need the fence gone before the financial advisor will allow a new purchase. I think this is a fair price for a good fence.

For anyone interested here are the hole spacings referenced from the left edge of the cast iron wing! from the left 1st hole 2.5”, 2nd 3.5”, 3rd 13 3/4, 4th 14 3/4, 5th 19.5”, 6th 25”, 7th 30 1/4, 8th 31 1/4”, 9th 41.5, 10th 42.3/8” 11th 46 5/8”, 12th 53.5”. That’s the position of all the holes referenced from the edge of the current cast iron table. There’s a lot of holes so some should line up.

For the pm senders, pm sent back

I have one of these for sale too…but have been holding off to avoid making it more difficult for tsdahc.

Seeing what it going on with the price, and keeping in mind the thing weighs quit a bit so shipping won’t be cheap…I think I’ll just leave mine in the box propped up against the wall and see how many times I curse it for being in the way.

In the VERY unlikely case there is somebody in Greensboro that wants one cheap, let me know.

-- Last week I finally got my $*i# together. Unfortunately, it was in my shop, so I will probably never find it again.

I know this is a very old post but just in case…

I have one of these for sale since I removed it from my new SawStop and installed my trusty Vega fence. If anyone in the Reno/Taho/Sacramento area is interested I’d sell it for $100. Shipping would be too expensive. Brand new in box, never used.

i also have a used Powermatic 63 Artisan table saw for sale. Again, too heavy to ship. $400. I’d even combine them for a very negotiable price.

Hi Nirecue,

Short answer is yes, sort of. I can include a brand new SawStop Premium fence, but you would need to install it yourself. I have no idea how easy or hard that might be. I have not tried it and can’t guarantee anything, but I was able to install my Vega on the SawStop, and it was on the Powermatic.

Maybe we can work something out regarding getting it to Elk Grove or meeting in Auburn or something. Or maybe you need a nice little holiday in Reno! See link to craigslist for pictures.

Here is what I posted in a different thread here on LJ:

About 20 years old. Has built a lot of kitchen cabinets and remodeled a lot of houses. Works great. I just upgraded to a SawStop PCS to save my fingers while I still have them so don’t need it anymore. Asking $350.

Comes with original manual, mitre gauge, blade wrench, push stick and used Freud 60 tooth blade.

NO FENCE INSTALLED. NO BLADE GUARD! You must install a fence before use!!! If you have one, great, if not you must buy one, plenty of good after market fences available. I had a Vega on it and I like my Vega so keeping it! It fit on the PCS just fine.

However I also have a SawStaop Premiumn Fence, brand new in box that I would sell seperately or as a package deal. The fence sells for about $180 on it’s own. I have no idea how hard it would be to install it, it will probably take some modifications and a little engenuity. I’m asking $100 for the fence.

Pictures here: https://reno.craigslist.org/tls/6688293835.html

Make me an offer for either or both. Cash only. No warranty or returns.

Have your say...
