Topic tags/keywords: state quarter makers mark

Ever since David posted his Blanket Chest – the one where he blogged about including a State Quarter to hide an error… I mean, as a secret “hidden” treasure to find,.. along with his Makers Mark, I’ve been looking for some NH State Quarters, and would you believe I haven’t seen a one?

A while back I headed down to my local bank and asked for a roll of NH quarters. The teller looked at me quizzically… turns out they had been circulated quite some time back, and didn’t have them on hand – at least probably not without dumping out the till and looking through – just like I’d have to do with my change jar (you know under the sofa cushions, car seats, etc….

So since I’ve seen tons of quarters from other parts of the country, lots from the midwest, perhaps you have some from these parts that we could trade?

send me a PM if you can hook me up.

Thanks

I will look to see what I have tomorrow.

Unfortunately, like gas these days, it’ll cost more to mail that what it’s worth. Not that it is a problem…

I’ve been putting state quarters in my bottle stoppers.
The local coin shop has, literally, hundreds of GA quarters (Doh) and dozens of quarters of each state.
Uncirculated has a high premium. Used, but still shiny, cost about 40 cents.
Rockler has a bit for each size coin. I bought the quarter bit because a 1” Forstner is just a tad too large. I bought the more expensive bit because it makes a flatter bottom for the coin.

-- No piece is cut too short. It was meant for a smaller project.

I have a Philly NH, if you’re still looking, Scott.
