I am building a dining room table. Instead of the normal wood pedestal, I wanted a more open, light look to contrast with a heavy 2” thick slab top.

I thought that wrought iron legs/pedestal/base would work well. Does anyone out there know of a good custom shop within 3 or 4 hours from Chicago? Have you used it?

I know of a guy in Stoughton WI that did custom wrought iron work. He was leaning more toward wrought iron work as an art form. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen him but I could see if I can scare him up if you want.

I would think most any blacksmith could do it.

I know 3 in Chicago, I’ll send an email and see if they can do it.
