Topic tags/keywords: maple question resource

i just recieved a sweet spalted maple board and was wondering what if any thing i needed to do stop the spalting process? my father in law had said that i needed to soak the baord in denatured alcohol, is this what i need to do? any comment welcome thanks

Im curious as well about this technique. Is there an end thats going to get cut off any way that you can use for a trial piece. In theory it should work. Moist conditions allow the fungi that cause spalting to thrive so by displacing the water…....... I just put mine in a heated dehumidified room.
