Hi Guys

I went to an old steam fair last year and i thought you would like to see the machinery the old timers used to use when milling timber hope you enjoy the pics as much as i did taking them and standing there watching for 2+ hours lol…....

The size of that big blade reminds me of my uncle’s saw in Kentucky during the 1950’s. It was powered by an old truck that the rear tires were taken off of and the drive belts wrapped around the rims. He built his home with that and lumber for others in the area. Thanks for the memories!

Alistair your eyes are nackard mate thats a ferris wheel the location is the great steamfair at blanford forum in dorset

I love those fairs. They have a big following in NZ and OZ as well. That one looks huge.

Seeing that large blade reminds me of a W.C. Fields line… “a little later kid I’ll take you outside and let you ride piggyback on a buzz saw.”
