Hi Guys- long time no see! I mean to check in more often, but seem to run out of time. Ever since I made that harp I’ve been trying to learn how to play the harp. I eventually bought a ready-made new harp that is a lot bigger and has more strings for me to mess up on. LOL You can hear my feeble efforts on YouTube-
I was making the harp videos partially as a way to develop some videographing skills so I could make some carving and box-making videos to sell at shows and on my web site. None there yet- but coming soon.
I’ve also just updated my web site with lots of new carvings and even some new pages- including one with stuff for sale.
Check out these tiny boxes too- they are the cutest.
Lots of info on the 2010 Carving Cruise too- in case you would be interested in something like that.
I’ll be traveling around the country teaching again this year with stops in TX, FL, MA, and MN. No rest for the wicked!
Just want you all to know that even though I don’t post here very often I do appreciate all the effort it must take to keep this site going. I know that if I have some free computer time I can always find some fun project to read about on this forum.
Thanks, Donna Menke

Checked out your projects, that is an impressive chipmunk.

Thanks, Mark. I assume you are talking about the Chipmunk on Leaves and not the Chipmunk on a Log. I did the Leaves piece as a challenge to myself and I’ve been very proud of how it came out, but it wouldn’t work for a class, so I made the design for the Log project much simpler. Glad you like it. That is funny, Jim. Actually I have lots of time because I’m not big on non-productive activities like house cleaning- LOL. Good thing I have a supportive husband. I just finished teaching carving for the New England Woodcarvers in Mass., and next week I’ll be heading back to hot as Hades Texas. Then I’ll go up to Minn. for another carving seminar in Aug. This is a busy year for teaching carving and promoting the new box book and carving video. I especially enjoyed my trip to Florida last month to teach band saw box making to a nice group of fellows there. I’m getting to feel like a world traveler. Someday I’ll have to stay home and make something out of wood! Donna
