Hello All, Just wanted to let you know that I’ll be in the Southern California area from about April 15-21. I will be making the rounds to some of my favorite wood suppliers while I am there. If anyone in the area would like to show off their shop, maybe I could stop by for a visit. Send me a private message if interested in having a visitor. Last time I was there I visited Gizmodyne’s nice shop and his fantastic house he is fixing up. Take care, -- Gary, East TX -- The longest journey begins with a single step. |

Hi Gary. You are welcome to stop by again. Warning: Our house is on a home tour on the 26th of April. So I am in the middle of home tour madness with a billion projects. It is my spring break as well. So if you come…. I am putting you to work. Note: We will feed you. This is not a joke. John -- -John "Do I have to keep typing a smiley? I’ll only be in the L.A. Area. More in the eastern part than any others. So I don’t think I be in the San Diego area or as far as the Mojave. Sorry Used to do a lot of hunting in the Mojave though. Spent a lot of time in the middle of nowhere. Giz – I’m coming to California to get away from all the honey do’s I have here. :-) -- Gary, East TX -- The longest journey begins with a single step. |

Gary, I’m in Alta Loma, North of Ontario and East of Upland. I’m not sure how my time will be… You can contact me, if you want, and we can go from there. Maybe have a nice steak dinner @ Pinaccle Peak in San Dimas or something. My Shop is NOT anything to really see or talk about… crammed tight, etc. but I’ll show it to you. :) I’ve been trying to see how one sends a PM… so far, no luck. Send me email. At least we can meet and shoot the bull, etc. :) :) -- Have Fun! Joe Lyddon - Alta Loma, CA USA - Home: http://www.WoodworkStuff.net ... Hi Gary, I am also going down to Southern Ca. tomorrow I hope.(On my way to see my Dad and my son’s and of course those twin baby girls I became the great Aunt of a couple days ago) Down by Orange County. If you can Check out Austin’s Hardwood’s and Hardwares in Santa Ana. It’s address and everything is in the book. I think it’s an awesome wood store. I wrote a whole blog on it here awhile back. It is worth checking out. Tons of wood and all sorts of Goodies! -- Allison, Northeastern Ca. Remember, Amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic! |

Joe – I haven’t been to Pinaccle Peak in years (no I don’t wear a tie in there, there are enough of them hanging from every surface). Been going there since I was about 10 years old. Not that expensive either. It sounds like a great place to meet. For those not familiar with it click here I am actually staying in San Dimas for part of my stay. Would be interested in meeting everyone in the area! Allison – I have never been there and it’s one of the places on my list. I remembered you blog about it. -- Gary, East TX -- The longest journey begins with a single step. |

Gary, I was saddened to see that they took all of those ties down… BUT, they still will cut them OFF for you! (which is still fun!) OH, the prices have gone up since you were there… and they now have a “Trail Boss” which is bigger than the ole “Cowboy”. Sounds like a good idea… They DO NOT take reservations. What brings you to our psrt of the country? San Dimas!! WOW! That’s right here! -- Have Fun! Joe Lyddon - Alta Loma, CA USA - Home: http://www.WoodworkStuff.net ... Hey Gary, Thanks for the link. It almost seems like I remember that they were building themselves a site when I was trying to find it the last time. I hope you do go, I just LOVE the place. But cut yourself out a chunk of time, you can’t just run through there in a couple minutes, not if you enjoy seeing tons and tons of BEAUTIFUL wood! -- Allison, Northeastern Ca. Rob – That’s way out of the way also. I appreciate the offer though. Joe, Kindlingmaker – The weekends will be real crowded there so how about Thursday the 16th of April? Let’s say 7:00, unless one of you has a better time. Allison – It’s already plugged into my GPS and I plan on spending as much time there as I need. -- Gary, East TX -- The longest journey begins with a single step. |
