I am in the process of buying a Platinum series edge bander from Laguna Tools. I was on the forum where Nancy had a difficult time with service and this is scaring me a little. Am i still doing the right thing and does anyone have one of these units. Any feedback would be great.

I don’t have any Laguna tools, can’t afford them. I kept up with the saga that Nancy had and it seemed to me that Laguna stepped up to the plate and made things right. Many others were supportive of Laguna. I would be cautious because the tools cost a lot but I wouldn’t rule them out, there have been other stories about other makers.
Did you do a search of the reviews on LumberJocks, there are quite a few Laguna entries.

i have many of there tools and love everyone of them TSS table saw, 18” Bandsaw, 13” Moulder/Planer Dust collector….. i have found they are fast with replacment parts if needed and very helpful my rep is Kevin Y he does his best to make shure every thing is taken care of as for Nancy i think that went a little too far. You can find cheeeper banders jet also makes a good one. Good luck

Thanks Bureaucrat and Lenny,
I have tallked with Gaspar at Laguna tools in depth about the Nancy situation and others and got the answers i was looking for, Making a positive out of things the company did some restructuring in 2005 and dealt with many of the frustrating issues that affected their reputation, My experience so far has been excellent ,Gaspar at Laguna tools is as honest as they come. There is power in numbers and this forum is a great way to keep companies honest.
