I’m looking for inspiration for my next project, a child’s bookcase. I’m thinking three shelves and about 28” tall. I have looked at many painted or natural wood finish bookcases at numerous furniture sites. I want mine to include style and rail frame and panel construction with some nice figured veneer panels and…. oh yes….curves, I love curves. Not your average child’s furniture but definitely my style. I have some ideas in the sketch phase and will probably draw up some plans soon. If you have built something similar I’d love to see it. mean while when I get going on it I’ll share some of the process here.

my brain is tuckered out and has decided it’s on vacation. no ideas coming from me, I’m afraid.

I’d love to see the sketches you have made

DW – having had three small children myself – who love books but also love stuff – I have made in the past an open bottom bookcase – that is kind of a bin at the bottom with bookshelves on the upper portion. The bottom can have a face frame that looks to curve out – ok, think big bottom snow man maybe… does that make sense? Otherwise, email me and I have a picture of a more standard one of what I am talking about – then you can adapt it.
