New Shop Plans

Hi All, I’m fixing to start tearing my shop down so that I can rebuild a new bigger heavier post & beam shop. I want my new shop to be 30×30. Does anybody have any idea where I can get some decent plans ? I have a little time but would like to find my plans so I can start cutting the timber.

The best advice I can offer you is try to incorporate everything that you want in the shop into the plans. When I built my shop I made a list of everything that I would need and built a scale model. I wanted a wooden floor so I built it on piers. I wanted to build it from locally sawn lumber;southern yellow pine and oak. I wanted plenty of head room in the shop area[9-15’] and I wanted a loft for storage.The scale model that I made was great when it came time to order all of the timbers and other materials needed to build it.I installed a separate 200amp service which allows me to add anything that I might need in the future. I built the whole shop including all the RS timbers and siding, plywood and hardwood for the floors, roofing, PT for the porch and electrical all for$ 10,000. Keep us informed on your progress.
