I thank you Betsy and all the others that helped. That was one of the last boxes I thought would win, but who knows what they are thinking. Oh, well. They did add a link to Lumberjocks in my name anyway, so we’ll see what that does for Lumberjocks. -- Gary, East TX -- The longest journey begins with a single step. |

As I said before, your box looked like a winner to me, Gary!! -- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby. |

Congrats GaryK!! Is that box posted in your projects? I didn’t see anything that looked suspicious. -- Debt is nothing more than the 21st Century's form of slavery. |

Congrats Gary! I must say that I haven’t even noticed the winner box until it won the prize… it does look like a beautiful piece, I like it’s simplicity – but yeah, didn’t quite catch my attention till it was all over. -- When in doubt - There is no doubt - Go the safer route. |

Again, Gratz GaryK!. That box of yours is truly a masterpiece. The judges must have been partial to someone or something else. I can only dream of having the skills that you have in creating a work of art such as that box. Just an FYI. Locks of love sent a card back with a nice thank you note. -- Jerry, Set in the foothills of the Smokey's |

Gary, I don’t know what they are thinking….............. The winner “was” a nice box, but didn’t hold a candle to the masterpiece that you made….............. You’re a winner in my book Gary !!!!!!! -- Gene, Majestic Eagle Woodworks, http://majesticeagleww.etsy.com/, http://www.flickr.com/photos/majesticeagle/ |

So that’s the box you are talking about. What ever won the contest must have been something out of this universe!! I saw it almost 2 months ago. Geez, I hate this getting old, fat, slow and loosing my mind ;-) -- Debt is nothing more than the 21st Century's form of slavery. |

That is certainly very nice, well executed box. But, IMO, it’s not in the same league with yours. Yours is so far beyond anything most woodworkers could ever do, it’s mind boggling. -- Debt is nothing more than the 21st Century's form of slavery. |

Many of the boxes in the contest were real works of art, including yours. Unfortunately, judging art is pretty subjective. It’s sort of like the old saying hat beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But in terms of sheer complexity and woodworking skills, your creation was the clear winner. -- Charlie M. "Woodworking - patience = firewood" |

The only thing I can think of is that people were maybe intimidated somehow by the complexity of your Box Gary. I mean it’s great, don’t get me wrong. It took me forever to figure out how it works, when I first saw it. -- Respect your shop tools and they will respect you - Ric |

You have my vote. Art is subjective, so please don’t take it personal. Lots of things involved with judged contests. Your work stands on its own. Gary’s , that is. :) -- mtnwild (Jack), It's not what you see, it's how you see it. |
