I was thinking of driving up to Indianapolis tomorrow for the woodworking show. Are the shows worth the 2 hour ride for me to get there? I have planned to go to one of them for a few years now but something always keeps me from making it.

Hi Joey,
If you have the time and the inclination and have wanted to go I say YES.
I live in Indy and went to the very first one about 30 years ago. I have been at least 25 of the 30 years. My Brother lives in Ft.Wayne (2hours and 18 minutes from my house) He has driven down for the show for the past 15 years. ( He should be pulling up to my house in about 3 hours).
We will be there all day Saturday & Sunday. If you get there let me know we can meet and say HI pm me if you are going to be here I will send you my cell#. Or look for him I should be close. Just remember I will be the “little” brother…lol
If you are looking for tools, jigs, supplies and things like that you can find some real good buys. You just need to be aware of the “normal” price and get the deals.
There are a lot of FREE lecture/demonstrations as well as booth demos. There have been a lot of times that I have learned a “tidbit” from one of the people that has more than paid the admission price. here is a picture from last year, My brother with Alex Snodgrass from Carter my brother won the band saw on Sunday Afternoon.

Is any one else planning to be there Saturday or Sunday?

I should be there for a few hours on Saturday. I’ve got a meeting at a speedway down there, so it kind of depends on how long i’m tied up there. I probably wouldn’t have made the 3 hour drive south for either the safety meeting of the show, but since they’re both on Saturday, i’m going.

I’m thinking about going, as long as I can get my wife to let me. I kind of forgot about it until I saw this forum, so I haven’t asked nicely yet.

I’m in Warsaw. If anyone is interested in carpooling, and is heading south past me or is on my way south, let me know.

So… I didn’t go. How was it?

Hey joey502 would you take a package with you to INDY for me? It’s for a guy named “POCO” on the east side…

Thought I would do a “review” of the show.
Went both Saturday & Sunday. Was there from about 10:15 to 4:30 on Saturday, only sat down for about 15 minutes. LOTS of stuff to see.
There were more venders than the past 2 or 3 years, ,it is nice to see the show getting back to what it was.
Lots of show special prices that were a savings over store price.
For those of you that are thinking of going to one of THE WOODWORKING SHOWS that are left this season I would strongly advise going.

Have your say...
