Topic tags/keywords: question

Anyone ever made a dust hood for their 6×48 belt sander. I need to use both ends of the belt rollers, with the belt in the horizontal position and the little hood that it came with blocks one of the rollers (plus its not really effective anyway). I’m looking for any ideas or pictures, or drawings that anyone might have a design of a dust hood. Really stratching my head on this one for some reason…..please my fellow dust covered compadres help a guy out :o)

I got a new 6” belt sander for the holidays and was faced with this same conundrum. I’ll have to snap some pictures when I get home to show you what I came up with.

As promised, here's my ugly home-grown system. It allows me to sand inside curves using the front roller, anyway. If you need the back as well you’d need to change it up somewhat.

Hope this helps.

Not ugly at all….beauty is in the function.
