I found this add in craigslist for 2-8’long 2’ diameter walnut logs. He’s asking $1000 for both, ridiculous I know. I emailed him, and he said he’d take $400 for both. I don’t have the cash or I’d get them myself, so if anyone wants them, they are in Naperville.

Taht would work out to around 400 bdft total for both. Walnut is not worth that much in log form. I would not pay more then $150.

It’s all relative I guess. I can get it milled for 25 cents a foot, so if I got 400 feet out of them, I would have a total cost of around $2 per foot of walnut that I would have cut to MY specs. Besides, there are guys selling live edge slabs for $15 per board foot out there. I wonder if the guy found a buyer or what?

Does he think he has Claro Black Walnut with heavy feathering in the figuring? Guess someone told him the wood was worth a lot.
