I saw some Minwax Wood Hardener at the store today…

Will this stuff work to prevent my softer woods from breaking up when I turn them?

Wood hardener….hay this is a family site. We don’t need to hear about your problems with soft wood.

Charlie, I think you have to rub it on. ( Vigorously to get it in the pores )
Be sure to use long strokes with the grain. :-)

I used some on a spalted maple pen blank. I soaked it, let it dry for a week, then turned the pen. It didn’t harden the wood as much as stiffen it. My results were poor(my own fault). I don,t know if this helps , but maybe start off with something small. Good luck.
