I am adding a Post & Panel Night Stand SketchUp drawing and cut list to my Free Plans page. At the bottom of this page click on the two links for the SketchUp file and the cutlist. The design is Ron Griesse’s and the drawing is done by yours truly.

The cut list was automatically generated by CutList 4.0, a Ruby script available for SketchUp. You can get the script by following the link on My Favorite Ruby Scripts page. Here is a screen capture of the CutList 4.0 output.

Automatically Generated CutList

Pretty cool eh! If I had textured it, the name of the texture woulf have been picked up as the Material (e.g. cherry texture).

I have not built this stand, and usually when I build a piece for the first time I find a mistake or two in the drawing. So if you plan to build it, check the drawing over carefully, and if you find a mistake I would appreciate an email pointing it out. As always, these plans are made available as is, and I take no responsibility for their correctness (my lawyer told me to say that).

I just in the process of designing my bathroom cabinetry, and have just started using Cutlist. What an impressive plugin! Thanks for posting this Nightstand.
