Just starting out in the hand plane side of woodworking. In the middle of a bench build and looking forward to getting different hand tools now. From what I gather, the #5 or 5-1/2 jack would probably be one of the first ones to get. Thinking about going the new route with the Woodriver brand but thought I’d ask here first. I feel I can trust you guys with a good used one that’s been set up properly and sharpened to be a good worker. I got a used one that I’m in process of referbishing but I’m not sure of what im doing so I thought I’d put it on hold for now till I’ve used one enough to understand how they are supposed to work. It’s a Bailey #3 so I figured it’ll be good once it’s finished.
Not planning, at this stage anyway, of going totally with hand tools but I do want to start building a good set of planes and I have to start somewhere right?
So if you’ve got something that you are willing to part with let me know.

LJ Don usually has planes for sale.
He is a good guy, check out his site and see if anything suits you.
