Topic tags/keywords: drying trick

I have come upon a nuber of you Jocks that have portable saw mills. I’ve had my woodmizer for about a year. I have just started to get some of the fruits of my labor form the first week I had it. I’d like to hear some drying advice from someone older and wiser. We have been collecting old sliding glass door panels to build a solar kiln. Do you know of any good plans?

Google “Solar Kiln” and you should come up with one or more plans and lots of ideas. Also lots of info is available at WoodWeb here – http://www.woodweb.com/KnowledgeBase/KBPPKilnOperation.html. Scroll down and you’ll find some references to Solar Kilns.

I built a solar kiln a few years ago, But in northern michigan doesn’t do much good except for storage in after oct 1st thru may 1st. Was trying to figure a way to convert to heater but i think it has to much glass to work.
