Just bought a refurb Bosch table saw and a newbie working with them I adjusted the blade tilt at 90 in relation to the table and reset the pointer on the bevel gauge to 0. The 45 seems to be good but if I have to rip something other than 45 or 90, how can I use the gauge since the pointer was reset? Am I missing something here or just a knucklehead. Thanks for any input.

I never rely on the gauge.

The pointer is just an approximation. If accuracy is important you should always use a secondary measurement device such as a Wixley digital gauge or equivalent. Also note that just because you set the blade tilt at 90, doesn’t mean that it will still be at 90 tomorrow or next week.
