Somehow the handles on my Veritas Twin Screw Vise got out of allignment. The vise seems to be working fine.
Does anyone know how to get these back into alignment?

Disclaimer: I don’t own and have never used the twin screw vice

You should be able to pop off the cover, pull the chain, realign the screws, put the chain back on, and put the cover back on.

I’m pretty sure one of the sprokets has a set screw locking it into place you can loosen up and re align it. If you don’t have your original instructions on the vise you can get a pdf copy from lee valley.

I just completed my install and love the vise but I have the same situation regarding the handles not being aligned. If I get to the bottom of the problem I’ll post it here, hope others will do likewise.

I just searched the topic on this site and found a very informative post by James Wattriss from 2009. What I got out of it is that the posts above are correct that the sprockets which are held in place by set screws can be adjusted. Apparently Mr Wattriss went the extra length of drilling into the shaft to provide a better grip for the set screws. It’s a very lengthy and informative post and for anyone who owns this vise, well worth the read. Thanks Mr.Wattriss.
