I am looking at building a benchtop jointer cabinet for my Ryobi JP-155 6-1/8’’ benchtop jointer do you guys have any ideas?

CJ,

If you plan on making the cabinet mobile, I would think you would want to have lockable wheels. This would prevent movement during use and therefore make it safer.

Charles,

Don’t miss the oppurtunity to get some storage space. I’m sure you could use the space to store some power tools. Keep in mind the height of the bed should be around 34”. The lockable casters are a great idea. Good job on the Unisaw.

If your jointers got no extraction ,maybe include a waste bin in the base, i,ve seen one that used a deflector to direct the chips down to the bin.

Yes, I’m sure you’ll want it on wheels to make it mobile and the locking type are the way to go. Not too long ago I bought four from Grizzly for only $6.50 each. They’ve done great. You can spend a tone of money on them, but the less expensive ones work just as well.

I think the cabinet is going to be about 20’’ wide.
