I was reading this article about new Stanley planes that Christopher Schwarz wrote at http://blog.woodworking-magazine.com/blog/CommentView,guid,49ce20e5-3c3c-48cb-acc9-c7991e07063f.aspx.

Anyone know if you can purchase these planes yet?

I’ll be interested, especially if they are made in England. If they are Chinese, I will stay with LV, L-N, or Clifton.

This is what I heard from one of the rockler employees (and Rockler won’t stock these as far as he knows). They will be made in Mexico, with the iron made in England and they won’t be available until mid to late 2009.
I’m planning on buying one just to check it out since I only have a few (9) hand planes so far.
