Topic tags/keywords: classified ad wood workers tools

When I was looking to add a new tool to my collection I found it very hard to find what I wanted for a reasonable price. Being retired does not mean pay what the market will bare. I kept hearing so and so just sold one of those! I would think to myself “why didn’t I hear about that?” Missed another deal I kind of felt like I was out of the loop or on another planet… So here’s what I came up with. I found a web site hosting company for like $8.00 per month and loaded a Classified ad program. I will manage it at no charge and there is no charge to list any wood working tools or lumber. Its like a Craigslist for wood working only. I am not making any money on this and as long as it is productive and people like it I will continue to support it. I is empty right now and I will give it a month or two to see if it catches on. So whats in it for me? Maybe I can score a good deal on some wood or when I need a new tool I wont be out of the loop! Hope this helps someone.

A pretty good idea to me!.....would be great also to have a market place like Ebay but with the same idea, for woodworking only….Ebay + Paypal suck!!!

Sounds like a good idea to me. I’ve got a few items that I would like to list.

Sandhill, I like this idea as well. In fact I went and was going to post some things for sale right away but you don’t have the right catagory. Soooo…... as soon as you get a section for sanders (drum sanders, oscillating sanders, etc), line boring machines, pocket hole machines, etc I will definately post. Please PM me when you have these set up and I will gladly use the site.
Thanks for wanting to do something like this.
