Topic tags/keywords: app store pop-ups advertising links

I understand that this site needs revenue and I appreciate it’s existence SO much!
That being said, I’ve noticed very poor performance lately while using safari on my iphone 5s. The typing display often late far behind my actual typing, I keep loosing many posts when I hit the post button, pictures show that that take a very long time (minute or more) to upload to a post and often aren’t actually posted.
Worst of all the adds for gaming apps keep redirecting safari to my mobile’s App Store which is hugely frustrating and infuriating. Not sure that there is anything you can do about it but if you can, PLEASE DO!

Ads are fine but being constantly redirected to the App Store is making this site unusable. If anyone has got a work around it would be greatly appreciated.

It’s happening on my iPhone 4 as well. All these issues are getting old. Feel like a rat in a maze.

+1

Unacceptable user experience to be constantly redirected to App Store when trying to use the site.

+1000. Browsing with iOS is just terrible with the automatic redirect to some crappy game in the App Store.

Please fix, figure out, remove, whatever you have to do.

The redirects come from tracking.crobo.com
Occasionally the browser actually redirects there as it’s redirecting iOS to the App Store.
Seriously annoying. Makes using the iphone (my main access point) almost a nonstarter. Now I realize that this is likely due to the ad maker themselves exploiting some fault to iOS but serious LJ’s can nothing be done?

The folks that run this shop need to contact whoever they use for ad servicing, most likely Google. If Google, they take this stuff seriously and will get it fixed by removing the offender (crobo.com) or getting them to shape up.

I am testing the site from my iPhone 6 tonight to see if I can replicate the issue.

Thx Cricket. As I said I know it’s not LJ’s that’s exploiting the fault in iOS it’s the ad, it’s just unfortunate that it’s happening here at LJ’s.

So far I have not been able to replicate it on using my iPhone or a tablet, but I will talk with our team tomorrow to see what I can find out. I know we were having problems with pop ups on phones which have since been blocked so let me see if they have a solution.

Cricket if it helps, it’s only occurred with the game apps, the two that pop up constantly are the one recently seen on TV that “game of war” the other is some kim kardashian game.

An example of the ads that force App Store to open

It’s the one to the top right that is exploiting iOS.
