Hello All, I am having a great day here, I’m LumberJocking, playing kerplunk with the kids and Jenn just made me my favourite breakfast and to top it of it is my birthday. Even though it is far too cold to be in the shop making sawdust I am having the best day this year. There are some amazing projects here and it is inspiring to troll through all the projects and advice. What a great day to be a LumberJock! -- ...it's rennovation time!!! |

I’m in Winnipeg, drop me a line if you want to commiserate on the weather or any other subject!! Dave. -- If Stradivarius was alive today, he'd be using Gorilla Glue. |

Thanks for all the good cheer. Jenn just outdid herself with an incredible tasty peppercorn steak, scalloped potatoes and asparagus for dinner followed by an incredible cherry cheesecake…..I’m too full to go the shop even if it was warm enough. poopiekat, what part of Winnipeg are you from? Once I figure out this handplaning I think a router plain would be a nice addition…now just to convince Jenn of that :-) Matt I had to look at the left hand column here but you are right its coming up on one year…man what a year I have learned a whole bunch here on LJs and realize just how little I really know. Jenn and I drove through you neck of the woods back in ‘02 at this time of year…we could not get over how beautiful it was and kept wondering why everybody was bundled up like they were…we were in short sleeves and boiling. One of these days we would like to return and tour around some more. I understand there is the odd winery in your area ;-) -- ...it's rennovation time!!! |

Mark: I’m glad that you are getting fed all right. I made supper tonight. Some homemade Portabella Mushroom soup. Very tasty, better that other kinds of mushrooms. -- What happens in the workshop stays in the workshop. No wait that doesn't sound right. Karson Southern Delaware karson_morrison@bigfoot.com † |

Hmmm Portabella mushrooms, those would great in a soup. Back when by Grandparents were alive they would pick wild mushrooms from in behind my parents property (they had 10 acres and it backed on a provincial park) I remember those as having an indescribably unique taste. I haven’t tasted those for 20 -25 years, and never had the nerve to go and try and pick them myself…poison mushrooms look pretty much like safe ones to my eyes. Never did understand how they knew which ones to eat and which ones to leave alone. Just tucked the little ones into bed and am enjoying a quiet evening with Jenn…and of course you folks :-) -- ...it's rennovation time!!! |

Happy birthday from me too!! It is a great day to be a lumber jock. Lots to see and learn from ya all. While migraine cycles come and go, i can sit in the dark, turn the monitor down and be thankful I don’t have some dread disesae like cancer. It sure beats lying in bed! -- Debt is nothing more than the 21st Century's form of slavery. |
