I’m new to turning and have turned several bangle bracelets. I would like to add a wood inlay. I purchased a very thin 3/8” wide piece of wood inlay only to find it would not bend around the bracelet without breaking. An y suggestions? Am I using the wrong material?

You might try to steam it or put it in boiling water. Be advised that woods have a temp at which the ligin sets and if the temp goes above it the wood will break. You will find some information about this on the wood web site in the knowledgebase.

Maybe you could try gluing several pieces of wood together and turning them as a single piece, instead of trying to inlay the wood? If you glued a think strip of the wood you want between two other pieces, when you turn it it will give you the band look you want.
