I have read the reviews regarding this dust collector, but in both cases the unit was new to the reviewers tool arsenal. In addition the reviews are over a year old I believe. I was wondering if those that own this model are still satisfied with it’s performance.

I have the same question. With the $100 instant rebate being offered right now, I’d like to know if this would be something worth picking up.

I have had mine for about 4 months now. Not too long in the grand scheme of things, but I have been very busy in the last four months with prep for a Christmas show and now milling lots of wood for my Roubo bench. The DC works like a charm. I had a 1 HP before and it is amazing the differing .5 HP can bring. The clear bags are a blessing too as I was always waiting til the last minute to empty the bag. Changing the bags is easy too as there are clips on the side that hold the bad in place while you tighten the strap. I have filled and emptied the bag now more than 6 times so this thing has gotten some usage. The filter bag doesn’t stop everything, but it is so much better than the typical 30 micron bags you see for this price.

I have the Steel City 1 HP Dust collector with 700 CFM
It works well and has made a big difference in my garage as far dust settling around the place.
But… at 87 dbls it very loud.
