It is nice to have you on board.

I can well understand about your shop being a nice retreat. But I don’t know how you keep your wife out of there. When my wife decides that MY shop is in need of a “gentle” cleaning she goes through there like a tornado and, of course, helps me organize my tools. I appreciate her effort but, the only trouble is, I can’t find anything. She puts my hand tools away in drawers (which I then have to hunt for) and arranges my mobile tools along one shop wall. The only trouble with this arrangement is that they are stacked so that I can’t get to any of them.

But you are right, when we need a retreat (usually when I am getting yelled at for something that I don’t recall doing) the shop is a wonderful place to “hide”.

Welcome to Lumberjocks, wood-rat. I can relate to the shop being a place of peace. I am often asked what I making and my reply is “Sawdust” and I am happy doing it.
