Clint, I do not mean to hijack your post but here is a response for Roman: MDO and MDF are different materials. MDO stands for medium density overlay. It is a plywood product, with a paper face overlaid on the plywood substrate with an exterior grade (usually) phenolic adhesive. MDO is designed to have a smooth paint receptive surface. One or both faces can be faced with paper, and is found in 4’ x 8’ sheets from 3/8” to over an inch in thickness. MDF is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down softwood into wood fibers combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. It is made up of separated fibers, (not wood veneers). It is normally found in 49”x97” sheets. -- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby. |

Thanks Scott…............in others words, MDO is “sign board” Knowing that I would say that MDF is a better bang for the money. |
